I Just Housecleaned My Blog

Yes, it is true, and I deleted out almost 1700+ "friends". This was no small feat, took 3.5 hours, and my thumb hurts. I believe my address/acct information was used by someone else because of course I had it out there on this blog. So, because of this I now have 56 fabulous friends on my friends list and sporting a higher privacy setting.

I know I have inadvertantly deleted some folks I should not have. Please forgive me and send me an invite and I will accept you back into the fold… if you pass certain criteria that is. Or I will find you.

It was truly time to clean it up in that list and I feel I’ve accomplished something big. As of now, there remain not one uncovered body part and I’ve become an old auntie…

This blog started out as a Nessie blog, to host photos of interesting stuff the Nessie Group had thought they’d captured on film. As a matter of fact there is a great photo album of our fabulous finds hosted in my albums called Loch Ness Stuff. (And, as another matter of fact, Mikko, the web master has a new high def web cam up. A great view. Click HERE if you wish to check it out quick. BUT, you watch long enough you will see something, just let me know too.) Anyway, after the Nessie thing, I switched it up to a music hosting blog. Then it was a Hippie kind of blog with a twist of the supernatural. Then an art blog. This little old blog has seen a few transformations throughout the years and there is a lot of interesting tid-bits within it.

Anyway, (I digress and am becoming sentimental) I wanted to pick out ONE SONG that represents how I feel – one that could stand the test of time and be appropriate for the ages. One that could sit here at the top of my blog for awhile while I deal with a whole lot of crazieness and personal issues in my life right now. Of course, the music video possibilities were endless, but Basia’s, Time and Tide stood out A WHOLE BUNCH in my mind. For the lyrics you may click HERE.

And, as I bow out for awhile now, to continue to deal with family, friends, and two very busy careers, I leave you with a beautiful video of a song that I believe stands the test of time and does justice as a first look at my blog. Please please feel free to dig deeper within my blog as there are fabulous things to find.

I hope that you are having a fabulous summer! Mine can only be classified as "meh" this year. And a very bland "meh" that is…

Who among us has not known someone like "Joy" in Frenemies? I know I have. And of course, I feel that I am definitely (if in name sake only) the Lori character. I do suppose, depending on who you ask, some would call me the Joy character. And Uff-da to that. But anyway, the heading caught my eye (What happens when your husband flirts with your high school nemesis?). Clearly I could relate and I watched the entire series to see how it ends. I found this little series extremely entertaining. It runs approximately one hour long. Also, it’s smooth running and virus free. It is brought to you by Toyota (who needs some good publicity these days).

I can so relate that I determined this link just has to be on my blog. There are alot of me-Me-ME-mean girls out there, to be sure.

Now regarding my blog: My blog and I have fallen out of love. Plain and simple as that. Instead, I have fallen for an official dot com site. My new on-line home is brand new and currently in its baby-stages, and I don’t know when it will be complete. It is a work in progress, but I will link and make an announcement if ever I get there. Until then, I will be here and on Facebook.

YAY! THEY’RE HERE!!! The 2010 Winter Olympics

If you read my blog you know that I am a major fan of both the summer and winter olympics. You also know that if I have nothing else to say, I WILL come out of my shell to share with the world my view of the olympics. They are fabulous for me, and, unless you live under a rock, you know by now that last evening heralded in the beginning of the 2010 Winter Olympics held in beautiful Vancouver, BC.

Of course I am absolutely thrilled about this! And as everyone knows, it was not as visually spectacular as the Beijing opening ceremonies, nor was it expected to be. However, it was spectacular in its very own way and I loved every minute of it. The creative people behind the show did a fantastic job with the opening ceremony show.

One interesting thing I noticed was with some of the televised shots and the angle in which they showed off the city that the city reminded me of a mini-Hong Kong in some way. It had to do with the water and the ocean, and the sparkling sky-scrapers, and the islands and mountains in the background – it is so reminiscent of Hong Kong — it is so romantic looking!

I appreciate how they embraced all the different cultures of their area and showcased the different beauty associated with each of these cultures. IT WAS FABULOUS AND MOVING. And they did a great job with the shadowing and graphics to portray the many scenes they created for our viewing pleasure (the whales swimming across the arena WAS FANTASTIC).

The only thing I would have changed is this: I think that the snowboarder who flew into the stadium through the olympic rings on the snowboard should have been holding the olympic torch. He should have FLOWN through the rings with the torch and slid to the olympic cauldron and lit it that way. It would have been way more spectacular than watching Wayne Gretzky stand there and cringe as he waited for the mal-functioning mechanism arm-thingy to not work. That is my only criticism of this event of last night.

Peeps, THIS was the most spectacular thing of the evening in my opinion. It was sooooo cool.

WELCOME 2010 Olympics!

I would be remiss to not mention the horrible death of Georgia luger, Nodar Kumaritashvili, age 21. It is a terribly sad thing and I was absolutely shocked that this happened. I read today that the luge track has been "tweaked" to slow it down. Evidentally, the panel of experts has moved the beginning of the luge lower down the course and shaved down a couple of the tighter curves to slow the course down a bit. Olympic Luge runs start today, and thus far the luge runs today have gone without incident. It is being reported that the trial runs are flawless.

The International Luge Federation and Vancouver Olympic Committee has just released the following statement regarding their findings about the accident and the lightening speed of the luge track. They say: "The International Luge Federation and Vancouver Olympic officials said their investigation showed that the crash was the result of human error and that “there was no indication that the accident was caused by deficiencies in the track.” Click HERE to open the entire article.

Olympic coverage starts today at 1:00 pm CST. So…. be there or be square.

Now for something completely different, and on a personal note with an on-going issue I am having: I have written to MSN customer support and am awaiting a reply as to why I cannot leave comments anywhere within any of our blogs (including my own). I can make a blog entry, I just cannot comment about it – and you know how I love to heckle myself! (And that there last comment would be the schizophrenic artist part of me speaking… but shhhh).

ANYHOO babies, take it easy. Try not to stress too badly about things in life we have zero control over in this life, and ENJOY THE OLYMPICS! I assure you, I will be.

Well, when will that be? Another 6 months? So there peeps it is… I just cannot comment until the new release of the new version is let out to us. You know, I’ve never really gotten all that accustomed to THIS VERSION… I don’t like this version, MSN.

OK… OLYMPICS ARE ON… GOTTA GO. I will probably be blogging as I watch.

Pfft. And they start with another airing of the "new" version of "We Are the World." Blah. The "new" version totally sucks. DON’T TOY WITH PERFECTION. People are so uncreative these days it MAKES ME SICK! I do appreciate their efforts for Haiti however. The song just does not flow as well this time… there’s too many combining of different sounds and styles to be any good.

COMPUTER has crashed and burned from virus.

My computer picked up a virus through a game and I need to do a completely new re-install of everything. I need a new system install disc and it’s being mailed to me. So this is note to let you know that I will be off-line until my computer is back up.

And, the saying, "It is always something" rings so very true.

Fortunately, I have a ton of stuff to do away from the computer so I will live… just not on the computer.

OH, and Merry Christmas again. HO HO HO.
